Tributes Continue for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Remain Under Wraps.

Over a fortnight subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the couple.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt able to share openly about his personal sorrow.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can now express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner made him fall in love. "As we began spending more time together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor uploaded archival material from the film, adding that he could not remember "one day without mirth".

"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an understatement. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He finished with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Friend and Collaborator

In a separate essay, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to prevent the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, at the request from the local authorities.

A legal directive put a embargo on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a public database noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Fallout and Commentary

In the wake of the killings, public figures offered different responses.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, offering divisive claims that were met with immediate backlash by several public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his voice to the those speaking out last week. Conversing on his show, Rogan characterized the statements as "disappointing" and remarked they demonstrated a concerning absence of compassion.

Rogan ended by suggesting that an aide could have intervened when the impulse to speak on the death was made.
